Visual Arts
Visual art education at Shiloh begins in the elementary with weekly instruction. The goal is experimentation in a variety of media encouraging creativity. The fundamentals of art are introduced, different genres explored, and the students are exposed to a wide variety of great art from the past and present. Seventh and Eighth graders receive art instruction for a quarter each where art fundamentals are explored and skill levels in a variety of media are stressed. At the ninth grade and above, art is elective and includes Art I, fundamentals of drawing and sculpture, Art II, fundamentals of painting and ceramics, Art III, advanced drawing and sculpture, and Art IV, advanced painting and ceramics. Visit the Artsonia website to view students' art work, and to purchase merchandise that displays the students' art work. A percentage of all purchases made through the Artsonia website will go directly towards Shiloh's Art Program.
Fine Arts
The theater program at Shiloh consists of a two-act high school musical in the fall, a one-act competition play, and a middle school junior musical or play in the spring. The goal is to introduce students to the world of theater by participation to give them an understanding of the role theater plays in individual expression and in society.
